Points of Interest from Board of Director's Meeting of September 29, 2009

- Carts can remain in the building until the morning of October 18 so they will be available for the Closing Scramble-Tickets for closing scramble are available, winning membership is transferrable, you can win without being present and  three prizes available on the tickets.  2nd is green fee package,  3rd is range package.

Date set for the Annual General Meeting - it will be held on Sunday, March 28, 2010 at 7 p.m.

Cart path is paved to the tee box on # 9 and repaired on  #18                                                                                          - Curling Executive are in the process of forming a association so they will be able to apply for grants                                 

- Successful Mens' Texas Two Ball Tournament held on September 19 and 20 with 104 golfers participating.                  

- Ladies' Closing Scramble on Sunday, September 28 with 34 attending, good weather and great food.                          

- Furnace doors will be replaced before curling season begi

- Next Board of Director's meeting will be held on Wednesday, October 27 at 7:00 p.m.

 ·         Tickets will be sold for a chance to win a free membership for 2010, along with a second and third prize.·                   

Closing Scramble for the club will be held on Sunday,October 18 with a pig roast, and another chance to win the free membership, along with an auction.

·         Garth Nickerson has taken on the duties of our Junior Director along with chairing the Financial Committee.
·         Fascia board replaced on the east side of the rink.
·         New policy on the Consumption of Alcohol Rules and regulations.
·         Tree planted in the Hope Garden along with flowering Kale and small ground cover, five trees planted in back of number 12 tee box. Thanks to Clifford LeBlanc, he planted three trees on number 11 fairway by the big rock and the ladies’ planted a burning bush there too. 
·         Thanks to Gene Deviller and Don LeBlanc for clearing out the alders along number seven fairway.
·         Curlers requested permission to form a separate entity of the club so that they can apply for grants to improve the facilities. Ian MacDonald will sit on the committee to supply historical information on the background of the association and to bring recommendations to the Board.
·         Ladies hosting the Cook’s Dairy South West Zone two ball on Thursday, August 6.
·         Managers of the four neighbouring clubs working on the package of ‘’Four on the Shore” for tourism.
·         Rob Purdy again is helping the club by donating his time to do the ditching and drainage for us.
·         Steering committee for a plan for improvements for the course has been put on hold for now.
·         New television purchased for the pro-shop .
·         Ladies’ Pubnico Home-n-Home will be held on Wednesday, August 19.

 ·         Next meeting Tuesday, August 25 at 7:00 p.m. Observers welcome.

Yarmouth Golf and Curling Club
-          Emergency lighting, heat detectors, exit light and fire extinguishers work is complete
-          Machine for bunker raking purchased
-          Steering Committee for reconstructing holes 7 and 8 not received.
-          Fund Raiser Dance will be held at the club on Saturday, June 27 with Hour Glass, everyone welcome
-          New tee markers will soon be on the tee boxes
-          Reception area and washroom upstairs at the club is now wheel chair accessible
-          Junior Golf every Monday morning at the club – need volunteers to help
-          Ladies Golf – Yarmouth-Pubnico Home-n-Home will be held on July 8
-          New bunker will be on hole number 8 to replace blown down tree
-          Monthly meetings of the Board of Directors of Yarmouth Club will be at 7:00 p.m. the last Tuesday of every month beginning in July. All members are welcome to attend as observers and minutes are available upon request. Members may request an addition to the agenda prior to the meeting by writing to the Secretary of the Board.
